Kevin Donovan

Kevin Donovan is an award winning Director and Writer whose commercials and music videos have garnered international recognition. His accolades include five Cannes Lions, and over twenty commercials short-listed at the Cannes Festival. He won two Silver Lions at Cannes in 2001 for University of California, and in the same year, a Bronze for “The Rant” for Molson Canadian, which is the most successful commercial in Canadian history. Kevin made his feature film-directing debut in 2002 with the DreamWorks action comedy THE TUXEDO starring Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The film has grossed over $125 million dollars to date, and continues to be a popular rental choice among families and Kung Fu aficionados.

Hailing from Montana, Kevin played football for Montana State University before pursuing his film career.  He graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, then moved to New York, becoming a creative at Cliff Freeman and Partners, BBDO, Levine Huntley Schmidt & Beaver and J. Walter Thompson.  The urge to direct and bring stories to life gained him tremendous success in the U.S., and more recently in the international market. Kevin has shot commercials in Thailand, Romania, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Hong Kong , Kenya, Spain, India, France, Canada, China, and Tanzania.

In 2009 Kevin was hired to direct the Disney film BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA but departed because of creative differences. Kevin is also attached to direct SPIDER BABY a horror/comedy through Lions Gate and the fantasy/action film THE FEARLESS BOY. He is currently developing the action/comedy series WHAT WOULD TREJO DO? starring Danny Trejo. His recent web series for ALIENWARE computer gear has received over 500,000 hits.

Recently his commercials for Wild Aid starring Harrison Ford, Jackie Chan and Yao Ming have received international attention. Two years ago he launched an international SmileTrain campaign with Indian megastar Aishwaryaa Rai. Kevin also won awards at the New York  and Venice Film Festivals for his satirical re-imagining of MARCH OF THE PENGUINS, which he made as a promotional short film for the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. His 2009 American Heart Association sixty-second spot aired twice on the Super Bowl, which was the fourth commercial he has directed that played during the Super Bowl.. 

 Kevin continues to pursue directing and writing in features, television and commercials.
